(R.C.I.A.) Registration for classes to learn about the Catholic Church begins now.  Classes start after Labor Day. If you are interested in attending, please call the Parish Business Office, 444-3524 or stop in during business hours to complete a registration form.

The R.C.I.A., or the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, is the process mandated by the United States bishops by which:

1)  Adult Non-Catholics may inquire about and prepare themselves to join the Catholic Church.

2)  Adult Catholics who have not received all the Sacraments of Initiation may complete that process.

3)  Adult Catholics may learn more about their Catholic faith.

Each meeting format consists of an opening prayer, a presentation on the selected topic given by a priest, deacon, or by a lay member of the parish, a brief reflection or small group sharing on the presentation and a closing prayer.

The meetings are open to anyone in the parish, beginning with the third session.

They meet on Wednesday evenings beginning September 12th. They do not meet on the fifth Wednesday (if there is one) of each month. The meetings are held in the Parish Hall at St. Monica Church in East Peoria from 6:30 p.m. until about 8:30 p.m.

No one is under any pressure while attending RCIA. We only want you to be here because you want to be here! If you have any questions or are considering participating,  please contact the parish office  at 309-444-3524.
