Maybe we can give you a hand! Due to a generous gift, St. Vincent DePaul Society Peoria District Council is offering $2500 scholarships to applicants who are 26 years old or more, meet financial guidelines, and are looking to pursue a degree or certification at a 2yr, 4 yr., trade or technical school. School can be either public or private not for profit institutions. Scholarships will start for January 2022 term and are good for 1 academic year. Prior recipients must reapply each year for a new scholarship. Multiple scholarships will be awarded Applicants must live in the areas served by the SVDP Council-locally, in the Tri- County Area.

Required materials for application:

1. Completed ON-LINE application (Click Link Below) to access the application.

2. High School GED, High School or college/university Transcripts, letters of acceptance as proof of enrollment.

3. ESSAY: What are your plans for the future? What steps do you need to complete in order to realize that all of the steps of your plan have been completed?

4. 3 Letters of Recommendation, for example teacher, non-relative adult, sponsor from local SVDP Conference (St Monica/St. Patrick Conference) Interested applicants must complete an application and send it to Interviews will be conducted by Zoom in July. Successful applicants will be notified in October.

St. Patrick Parish contributes funds to provide services for those in need within our community.  Among the services the Society of St. Vincent de Paul provides are:

  • Provide food to the needy in our community through our Food Pantry at St. Monica's

  • Make home bound visits to parishioners

  • Distribute money to the needy in our community for rent, utilities, emergency housing, certain medicines and gas

  • Aid families and individuals with budget counseling 

  • Offer prayer for those in need
