Elizabeth Ministry

Mothers Love

What is Elizabeth Ministries?

A blessing for  expectant mothers takes place after the 3rd Sunday of each month.  Please meet by the Mary statue after any Mass.

The purpose of the Elizabeth Ministry is to support and mentor women and their families during the joys, trials and sorrows of the childbearing years just as Elizabeth supported Mary, the Mother of Jesus,  and as women have ministered to each other for generations.

Our mission is to cherish children, encourage families and build community.  We offer peer support, mentoring, spiritual nourishment and educational and inspirational resources.

Volunteers become ministers in the areas they have experienced.  This support can include phone calls, visits, cards, meals, prayers, resources and assistance.  Areas of ministry include, but are not limited to: pregnancy, birth, miscarriage, stillbirth, adoption, fertility, infertility, child illness, child death and crisis needs.

If you would like to volunteer to be a minister or know of someone in need of our ministry, please contact Nicole Nolte at 309-241-1127.

We Honor Life Through the Rosebud Program

If you are trying to conceive, suffering infertility or seeking to adopt, pick a yellow rosebud from the basket, fill in the attached card and place the rose in the vase. We will offer daily prayer for your intentions.

If you are pregnant, take a pink rose from the basket and put your name and due date on the attached card and place the rose in the vase. We will offer daily prayers for blessings on you and your unborn child.

If you have recently given birth or adopted, please take a red rosebud from the basket, fill in the attached card and place the rose in the vase. We will offer daily prayers of gratitude.

If you lost a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion or newborn death, pick a white rosebud from the basket, complete the attached card and place the rose in the vase in your child's memory. We will offer daily prayers of comfort.

If you have any concerns with a grandchild, pick a purple rose from the basket, fill out the card and place the rose in the vase. We will offer daily prayers for your grandchild.

If your child has an illness or you are facing any other troubles, pick a blue rosebud from the basket, complete the card and place the blue rose in the vase. Anyone in the parish in need of prayers is encouraged to use the blue rosebud. We will offer daily prayers for you.
